Blending WWII era aerial reconnaissance photos with modern satellite photography allows us to create more accurate loss information, as in the photo of a tank casualty near Immendorf, Germany. The original photo is superimposed over a satellite photo of the area as it appears today.
Many of the aerial photos are now held in the UK. The inventory is not complete, but is continually being digitized and updated. We intend to use these to substantiate and verify crash sites of aircraft, and the locations of armor and other vehicle losses.
